Okkervil River

Okkervil River

Okkervil River first set foot on the Schubas stage in March of 2004, just months after losing longtime drummer Mark Pedini and making touring drummer Travis Nelson an official member. Formed in March of 2000, Okkervil had drawn interest from record labels such as Jagjaguwar (who would release the band's first and all subsequent recordings) by the time of South By Southwest that year. They have gone on to release four full-length albums, two split albums, five EPs, and five singles. Since we first met them, Okkervil River has gone on to play Late Night with Conan O'Brien, at the Austin Music Awards, at the Capitol Center for the Arts and, at the request of headliner and fan Lou Reed, at the grand opening of New York's Highline Ballroom. As far as festivals, Okkervil River has played All Tomorrow's Parties, The Great Escape, Sasquatch!, Primavera, and Lollapalooza, amongst others.
