Rilo Kiley

Rilo Kiley first swung by Belmont & Southport on October 20th, 2002 for a show with Arlo and Clyde Federal. Touring behind The Execution of All Things, their first record on Omaha's Saddle Creek, they played a set which suggested a bright future. Rilo Kiley was quick to capitalize on all that potential, with an intense touring regimen which brought the band back to Schubas just five months later with labelmates The Good Life and Mayday. They went on to release More Adventurous on Brute/Beaute Records, the band's own impring. Distributed by Warner Brothers, the music of Rilo Kiley reached the wide audience it deserved. The band has since signed to Warner Brothers, and its members have gone on to prestigious and acclaimed sidework in addition to their work with the band. Jenny Lewis sang backup for The Postal Service on record and on tour, and Jason Boesel and Blake Sennett released an album with their band The Elected in 2004. More Adventurous spent late 2004 high on Billboard's Heatseekers Chart, and Rilo Kiley has appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Their music has been featured in feature films such as Must Love Dogs, Conversations with Other Women and John Tucker Must Die, along with television shows The O.C., Dawson's Creek, Grey's Anatomy, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Weeds.
