Schubas' 20th Anniversary featured on Chicago Public Radio's 848

For over 20 years, Schubas has hosted some of music's greatest talents, many of whom- including, The Dave Matthews Band, Norah Jones, and Tori Amos- made their Chicago debut on the Schubas stage. During it's second decade, Schubas has seen a new generation of bands arrive in Chicago. Bon Iver, The Decemberists, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Foster The People, Local Natives, The Shins, Sufjan Stevens, and many more won over their first Chicago fans at Schubas on their way to very promising careers. In between stellar debuts, Schubas also takes part in one time events like Train's January 2004 five night, sold out stand- and that same year- Neko Case's three sold out nights, which were turned into her live album, The Tigers Have Spoken. However, annual events are a staple at Schubas too, especially the Tomorrow Never Knows Festival and the many house favorites, like Bobby Bare Jr. and Richard Buckner, who always return.
