On 2/16/10 Matthew Ryan's newest record Dear Lover will be released via The Dear Future Collective. Dear Lover will be distributed internationally by The Independent Coalition.

"You've gotta fight with all the light in your skull, we've come too far to lay down by the side of the road" - City Life

Never willing to sacrifice his art/vision for commercialization, Ryan continues on the fringes of the independent music scene since leaving A & M Records in 2000. Much of his growth can be attributed to an ever growing list of film and television scores and placements, touring and an expanding world-wide fan base that's as vocal as it is devoted. But above all, his greatest asset is his ability to release consistently challenging, pure and beautiful music.

Dear Lover is Matthew Ryan's latest and twelfth album. He is far past the concepts of debut albums and sophomore slumps. Matthew Ryan is an artist driven to communicate with each sequential album a maturing, unique cinema that ties the themes of personal experience to a wider, more collective human story.

Recorded at his home studio, The Lerkim, it was a solitary effort for the most part. It's an album that exudes a beautiful balance between intimacy and anthem: from sparse folk (“The World Is” and “Your Museum”), to sweeping epics (“The Wilderness” and “City Life”); to torch songs (“The End Of A Ghost Story” and “Dear Lover”) and even a trance collaborative with famed Canadian DJ, DJ Preach (“Spark”).

Dear Lover is his first release for The Dear Future Collective, a new model partnership that is more a cooperative than traditional record label.
