Meiko's songs find common ground between indie pop and coffeehouse folk, with her distinctive alto vocals sharing the spotlight with acoustic guitars and intimate arrangements. A longtime songwriter, Meiko was raised in the small town of Roberta, GA, where she discovered her love for public performance after singing at a Southern Baptist church. She then took up the guitar, playing her father's Gibson before receiving her own instrument as a birthday present. At the age of 18, Meiko left home for greener pastures, eventually resettling in Los Angeles and scheduling recurring performances at the Hotel Café, a popular haven for L.A.-based singer/songwriters. A self-titled album appeared in September 2007, followed by several song placements in such high-profile TV shows as Grey's Anatomy. Meiko found herself receiving a considerable amount of attention for an independent artist; her album shot to the top of iTunes' folk music charts, while peaking at number 35 on the iTunes Hot 100.

Like notable musicians before him, singer-songwriter Cory Chisel forged his first connection to the power of song through the music he heard – and made – in church. His father was a Baptist minister, his mother played piano during services, and an upbringing surrounded by sermons and spirituals instilled in Cory the passion and portent of language and melody, and a fluency in the gospel’s rich vernacular of loss and redemption.

Based in Appleton, WI with his band, The Wandering Sons, Chisel’s upcoming six song EP, Cabin Ghosts reflects the inspiration of his upbringing with a spare Americana-saturated sound that is its own exquisite blend of folk-country and Delta blues. With his voice full of soul and longing, Chisel’s expressive vocals and the Sons’ loosely orchestrated, impeccable playing emerge fully formed yet somehow familiar and as confident in its sonics as in its lyrical echoes of existential grace and mystery.
